Volunteers Needed

The Laurel Center is looking for incoming volunteers to assist us with our mission to intervene in domestic and sexual violence instances in the Winchester, Clarke, Frederick, and Warren Counties. Our volunteers allow us to educate the community around us while empowering the survivors within that same community. We are looking for help in spreading the word to make this volunteer training our largest yet. We think these education sessions do a wonderful job letting someone see into the world of a domestic or sexual violence survivor. Volunteers may take the full training and be able to assist directly in the shelter.

We encourage the general public to stop in for a session or two (or all would be awesome) to open our eyes to the issues that we face as a shelter and in our community.

We have volunteer training coming up with the following schedule: (All sessions 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm at The Laurel Center 402 North Cameron Street)

We think these education sessions do a wonderful job letting someone see into the world of a domestic or sexual violence survivor. Volunteers may take the full training and be able to assist directly in the shelter. We encourage the general public to stop in for a session or two to open our eyes to the issues that we face as a shelter and in our community. We look forward to having younger population experience things to look for and how to combat violence around them, while looking to their new ideas of how we can better ourselves as an organization.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to working with you soon.

Thank you for your time,
