Youth Volunteers

Engaging youth as volunteers is a popular trend.  The VAC provides opportunities for youth to engage in service projects that are challenging, rewarding, educational and safe.  For teenagers, volunteering brings a new sense of confidence, self-gratification and a good model for interacting in the world. Volunteering also enables young people to develop new communication, career building and social skills that will be useful in other facets of their lives.

Age Guidelines of Partner Organizations – Trying to find an age-appropriate match for youth volunteers?  Visit each partner organization’s individual page on our site to learn of age requirements for individual organizations.

Youth Volunteers for Schools and Service Clubs – Youth volunteering is a great way to complete service requirements for schools or clubs!  The VAC is ready to provide a presentation to students and staff interested in learning more about the opportunities for youth volunteer service.  Contact Sharen Gromling, Executive Director at 540-536-1601, or sgromlin@valleyhealthlink.com to schedule a presentation.

Group Volunteer Application – Complete the Group Volunteer Application if you have a group of youth ready to engage in volunteer service.
