Leading the Way in Community Healthcare and Support
The Kendall Community Campus is a shining example of successful community care, recognized as the most impactful initiative in the history of Valley Health System (VHS). Named after Dr. Robert Kendall, a renowned Winchester physician honored by the American Medical Association for his service, the campus has become a cornerstone for healthcare and support in our region. Dr. Kendall, chairman emeritus of Our Health, played a vital role in its creation, spearheading fundraising efforts and building strong partnerships with local, state, and federal governments.
More Than Just a Collection of Buildings
The Kendall Community Campus is not merely a collection of buildings; it is a beacon of hope and support for the community. Managed by a dedicated team of five, Our Health serves as a vital safety net for the nonprofits it supports and the community they serve. Currently, this safety net assists over 100,000 client visits each year, ensuring that individuals have access to the resources they need.
Clients can utilize multiple services that address not only their immediate healthcare needs but also the underlying issues that may contribute to them.
Addressing Access Challenges
Before the establishment of Our Health, essential health and social services in Winchester were dispersed across various locations, making it challenging for individuals and families to obtain the help they required. This fragmentation led to wasted time, missed appointments, and increasing frustration among those seeking assistance.
Our Health was created to solve this problem. Where once it was difficult to find consistent healthcare due to scattered services, clients now enjoy access to healthcare, education, and other essential services—all in one location. This transformative change has not only improved individual health and stability but also empowered clients to pursue employment and new opportunities.
Looking Toward the Future
As we look to the future, we invite you to support Our Health through donations that will aid in sustaining our daily operations and contribute to an endowment fund. This fund is designed to ensure that Our Health remains financially secure and independent for years to come. Your financial contribution will help us continue to provide affordable spaces, essential services, and volunteer opportunities to the agencies that serve our community.
Thank you for being a part of the Kendall Community Campus’s journey. Together, we can continue to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.
